The following is a list of possible lens types.
-
Single Vision - provide one power of vision correction throughout the lens for distance or reading. Single Vision Lens can be used as specialty eyewear when made for specific consumer needs, such as for computer users, or musicians.
-
Digital Single Vision Lenses - offer advance technology in a lens processing, which eliminates many of the aberrations (image distortion). The new digital lens surfacing enables the prescription to stay exact to doctor specifications. This is ideal for strong prescriptions and high astigmatism.
-
Office Lens - resembles Single Vision Lens, but without any segment line and available in digital design. Upper half of the lens contains an intermediate (arm's length) vision correction, bottom half for reading. Great choice for computer users.
-
Bifocal Lenses - provide both distance and close-up correction, but not mid-range distance. Bifocal lenses have a visible line, where the upper portion is for seeing objects at distance, and lower portion is for seeing objects up close.
-
Trifocals - provide three different corrective powers (distance, mid-range and reading). The segment has two visible sections, mid-range (arm’s length) and reading.
-
Progressive Lenses - provide continuous, smooth clear vision throughout the lens from distance to arm's length to close up. They look like Single Vision Lenses without any segment lines.
-
Progressive Digital Lenses - offer quality of a digital camera, the higher pixel count results in crisp vision throughout, with six times more accuracy than regular progressives, wider vision channels for both near and intermediate distance (arm's length). First time progressive wearers and non-adapt will benefit from this new product. Digital lenses are excellent choice for patients who want to experience the latest in lens technology.
The following is a list of possible lens coating options.
-
Anti-Glare/Glare Reduction - seeing clearly can be achieved with anti-reflective coating. It sharpens vision by reducing glare caused by reflected light in a day or night time. Driving at night can be challenging due to reflection and double images from oncoming headlights. Anti-glare reduces eye fatigue and stress from time spent in front of computer screens and fluorescent lighting. This coating will improve and expand the field of vision. It’s also a great choice for public speakers, computer users, business professionals, and night time drivers.
-
Scratch - coating protects lens from scratches.
-
UV coating - clear coating that protects the wellness of your eyes from harmful UV light.
-
Tint - the color of tints can go from lighter to very dark, and can include a wide selection of colors. Tints can be solid (same throughout the lens) or go from darker on top of the lens, to lighter on the bottom.
-
Transitions® lenses - allows for clear vision indoors and at night time. When outside, the lens darkens due to sunlight passing through. It has built-in UVA and UVB, as well as scratch resistance. Anti-glare coating can be applied to Transitions® lens. Recommended for anyone.
-
Polarized Lenses - true sunglasses with 100% UV protected. They eliminate reflected glare caused by light bouncing off of shiny surfaces. Great choice for anyone, and especially for skiers, drivers, or fisherman.
-
Mirror Lenses - can reduce infrared rays and have aesthetic appeal (‘mirror’ look)
